MadRasana Festival 2022

Title sponsors

We are back again to live stage shows this year. Our previous 2 festivals we presented 5 concerts and happened in Sathyam cinemas. This year we are presenting the festival with much larger scale and in a very unique space.

Welcome to MadRasana Festival 2022.

The festival is between December 23rd to Dec 27th, 2022. This year we are featuring 14 concerts, 3 concerts every day except the last day. The timing of the concerts are 10 AM, 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM. We are excited to feature some of the best artists in this field during the 10 AM and 6:00 PM concerts and in the afternoon we are presenting young artists and also different content than usual starting at 2:30 PM.

We are presenting the festival at MS Subbulakshmi Arangam, a unique auditorium built with great acoustic sensibilities and with seating capacity that gives the sense of intimacy as well. This is inside Asian College of Journalism in Taramani, Chennai. This location has a lot of parking and is equi distant from all the major sabhas and for those in the IT corridor, this is a straight road. This campus also has a beautiful lawn to relax between concerts and also has a good canteen facility.

Thank you once again for all the love and support you have given us so far and hope this festival will also give you all a different and unique experience that we are known for. We would love you to be part of it.

Frequently asked questions

1. Is this festival Live Stage show or Online or both?

This festival is only Live stage show. We are not doing virtual shows this year.

2. What is special about this festival?

MadRasana always brings something new to their production. This is no different, we give a lot of importance to the place where we host our shows. The MS Subbulakshmi arangam, is a new auditorium and has extremely good acoustics, it is also one of a kind auditorium specially built for mic-less performances. So, you can expect a very different soundscape in this space. We also look for intimate spaces and this auditorium is just the right size we were looking for of just 350 seats.

3. What is special about the auditorium?

MS Subbulakshmi arangam is one of a kind auditorium specially built for mic-less performances. However for sake of recording we will have the mics and given that not all instruments can carry the sound we are going to have amplification in such a way it still makes use of the acoustic meant for that space. We have done a good round of sound checks with full ensemble and made sure the acoustic is perfect for the festival.

4. How easy is it to get to the venue and out?

The venue is inside Asian College of Journalism in Taramani. It is close to the Madhyakailash junction and is equal distant from most the sabhas in chennai. It also has a lot of parking inside the campus. For all those who are in IT corridor, this is just a straight OMR road for you.

5. How do we plan a day if we have to watch all the concerts of the festival?

Good question. We are known for our morning concerts and so we are starting these at a convenient time of 10 AM. The morning show gets over at 12:30. There is a good canteen in the campus that will serve food. You can use this for your lunch and snacks, tea coffee. The afternoon show starts at 2:30 and gets over by 4:30. The evening show starts at 6:00 PM and in that break you can get your snacks. The campus also has a very good lawn where you can relax between the concerts.

6. What are the seating arrangements?

We have just two classes of seating – Front and Back. Front rows are from Rows A-G and back I-O. Each row has about 25 seats.

7. I am living outside India but i want to buy tickets for folks in India, how do i do that?

We do not have differential pricing, if you have your credit card or use Paypal to buy the tickets and once you get the tickets in the mail you can forward them to anyone.

8. How do i contact you for more clarification?

You can send a mail to support@madrasana.com

9. What does Free Seating mean?

It means that you can sit anywhere in the rows designated to the ticket. We have two types of ticket , One that is Rows A-G and the other Rows I-O.
