An appeal for your kind consideration and support.
We from The Mount Lodge No 14 - Celebrating 161 years of Masonic Service, being one of the oldest, highly dedicated, reputed and vibrant Lodges in India. Our Lodge under the agis of members in the past and well connected Brethren, have undertaken several exceptional projects. Societal cause had been a passion for the Bretheren of Mount Lodge, which is a Regular and Ancient fraternity, in which, on the outset we are a society inculcating brotherly love, Benevolence and Charity in the presence of the Great Architect of the Universe.
We are looking forward for those philanthropic, spiritual, kind hearted organisations or group of such likeminded people, in giving their helping hand with their generous contributions toeards our projects detailed below:
1. SAVE THE VISION of Premature Newborn Babies: In the Urban Slum Rural areas due to lack of awareness and a procedure to check these tiny new born babies for any Retinopathy of Prematurity, develop blindness, which cannot be rectified. Our project aims to prevent blindness in preterm newborn babies in India due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). India has the maximum number of preterm babies in the world in urban slums and rural areas. Our project has two parts. Project Balanethra prevents blindness in babies by offering free vision preserving laser surgery. Project Vision on Wheels uses a retinal camera to detect babies who need immediate treatment for ROP in villages. Both projects are being conducted under the aegis of Radhatri Nethralaya, who has been pioneers of this noble cause. We are seeking donations for the treatment of one or both eyes of a baby, and we have various donor categories that range from Silver Donor to Platinum Donor. Any amount towards this Noble Project will be thankfully received and faithfully applied. Individual Donors can also avail of income tax exemption as per 80-G of the Income Tax Act.
2. Educational support for the deserving underprivileged girl child, special child or physically challenged:
At and in the same length of preventing the babies from Blindness, giving the Vision of Knowledge becomes the prime. However substantial support for education for normal children during the prime is available for the weaker sections, but there is no steady approach and guidance for the special children and physically challenged children, of weaker sections. They are led to abuse and ill-treatment due to lack of economical and living support system, which challenges to make these girl children to vulnerability. Even before they getting Educational support, what is required is to identify and secure them to Special Schools and Care. These assistances are not one time and have to be in continuous manner. There is another exclusive segment where the deserving girl child is from such a society, where no aid or support from the ruling dispensation is neither available nor recommendable. May be for those children through our known societies are supported with such generation from time to time.
3. Besides the above core projects we do stand to cause in supporting the following from time to time:
Support for MEDICAL EMERGENCIES for economically vulnerable persons.
Support for VEDHA PATASALA, like providing cycles, food during occasions etc.
Support for GHOSHALAS by providing sheds and water tanks
Helping hand to OLD AGE HOMES, ORPHANAGES for children and MENTALLY CHALLENGED.
CHEST SCREENING & CHECKUPS for policemen.
Providing WHEEL CHAIRs and assistance for handicapped.
Providing DIALYSIS EQUIPMENT at health centres.
SOLAR LIGHTING for a Hamlet.
*Please consider donating to our projects and prevent needless blindness in these tiny babies.
*Be part of a cause in upbringing the education to those deserved but economically poor, physically challenged and by god’s blessings been come as Special child.
*AND be a support system by heading to all our activities in this larger society, where the CONTRIBUTIONS from every quarter will take us a long way.
To have a steady and consistent support for the above projects year after year a strong Corpus Fund is being raised through contributions from various individuals, institutions, corporate houses and societies. In one such activity, we are comming up to Stage a Docudrama on the 24th September 2023 at 6 PM in Naradha Gana Sabha. This Docudrama stages the LAKSHMIKANTHAN murder trial, embellished with modern troops, the court room drama is based on the original transcripts of the case, the playwright well scripted and directed by P C Ramakrishna under his well reputed troup Madras Players.
