Sankarshanan has been learning Mridangam for the past 9 years from his fathar and Guru Vidwan Sri RSR Srikanth. He is a student of 10th Grade at National Public School Koramangala Bangalore. He has secured prestigious CCRT scholarship for young talent. He has also participated in AIR Yuva Vani programs few times.
